We are pleased to share an update on the highly anticipated new state-of-the-art 25-metre competition pool at Hurstpierpoint College.
Significant progress has been made, including the installation of curtain walling, windows, ground-floor render, and front wall rendering. The first fix of mechanical and electrical systems, cable ductwork, internal partitions, glazing, and the front entrance screen are complete.
The pool area is taking shape with internal walls ready for wall build ups and external walls complete, along with the pool render. The plant room is advancing, with walls completed, concrete stairs installed, and air handling unit installation finished.
Ongoing work includes Kalwall skylight installation, brick and blockwork, screeding of the plant room, equipment room and pool.
As we approach project completion, key focuses include pool screeding and tiling, vapour control layer installation for airtightness, second-fix M&E works, external wall finishes, and ceiling installations, including Rockfon acoustic ceilings. Whiterock wall finishes, power connections, lighting protection, balcony glass, and staircase balustrades are also underway.
In the changing areas, panels, benches, ceilings, and sanitaryware are being installed, along with electrical second fix work.
Externally, the attenuation tank installation, roof plant installation, and final exterior finishes are all to be completed in the coming weeks.
We look forward to delivering this exceptional facility to the school community.
