Four New Trees In Guildford

At MCS #NationalTreeWeek happens at multiple times during the year for us, as we are passionate about how trees can help combat climate change by removing harmful emissions, mitigate extreme heat and provide flood defences. And they're good for mental health and wellbeing too.

Last month we were delighted to gift four trees, each aged over 5 years old, to Guildford Borough Council (GBC) which we helped plant at their Sutherland Memorial Park.  The four species selected included: Betula Papy Kenaica; Acer Rubrum; Ulmus ‘New Horizon’ and finally Tilia platyphyllos ‘Princes Street’.

Managing Director, Justin Whiteman and Marketing Manager, Tanja Clark at MCS and Scott Jagdeo, Building Surveyor at GBC were delighted to be expertly managed by GBC’s Senior Tree Officer J-P Berry who imparted a wealth of knowledge and guidance to ensure the trees had the very best start.

Managing Director, Justin Whiteman said: “We are proud to be involved in this project to improve the biodiversity of the park through the planting of these additional trees.

“Delivering environmental benefits is a key aspect of all constriction projects we undertake, meaning we do all we can to leave the environment in a measurably better state by providing valuable habitats to enhance the natural world.”

MCS looks forward to planting many more trees during 2024.
