MCS is proud to announce its commitment to the Building Mental Health (BMH) Charter, joining an industry-wide effort to prioritise mental health awareness, support, and education within the construction sector.
The BMH Charter provides a flexible and consistent framework for organisations across the construction industry to access mental health resources, deliver awareness and training, and implement robust structures to support the mental wellbeing of employees and partners.
As a signatory to the Charter, MCS is pledging to:
Engage actively with the mental health agenda in construction
Promote best practices and make information readily available
Reduce stigma by fostering open conversations about mental health
Educate employees and stakeholders on when and where to seek help
MCS’s Mental Health First Aider, Will Frampton, said: “Signing the BMH Charter reinforces our commitment to creating a healthier, more supportive workplace for everyone.
“By working together with organisations across the sector, we can break down barriers, provide critical resources, and ensure that mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health.”
The BMH framework is spearheaded by a dedicated group of cross-industry volunteers, including:
Martin Coyd OBE, Group Head of Health & Safety at Beck & Pollitzer
Brian Van Campenhout, Health and Safety Director at Mount Anvil
Revd. Kevin Fear, Strategy Lead on Health and Safety at CITB
Sarah Bolton, Chief Executive Officer of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity
MCS is honoured to join this vital initiative and invites others in the construction industry to take this important step toward a healthier future.
